Since we all agree that the Forum's cup race was so much fun, how's about a Bama vs. Georgia NASCAR event? I'll bet we could get Phil to host it in 2 seconds flat. We could have 3 classes:
1)Vintage NASCAR cars
2)1990's - early 2000's style cars
3)COT's
Or choose just one of the 3....
We could all build the cars then rotate racing them like a proxy race!!
....you KNOW that I am up for this kind of action!! And I already have a couple cars to run in each class too. I would suggest box stock setups with tire truing and a 10%+/- weight rule; i.e. can't weigh less than 90% of stock or more than 110% of stock. Full interiors as provided by the manufacturer. My only "hang-up" would be my schedule as I am home so rarely anymore.....last weekend was only the second weekend at home in 2009.
Yeah, that really bites being home twice in the first 3 months Jay. That is one of the main reasons I wanted us all to talk it up. I had no doubt whatsoever that you had a few stockers to run. I like the rules to...except maybe rear tires and guideblade of choice.
Personally, I like the full interior concept and your weight rule suggestion. I can't help but think this would be one fun event. Thanks for the input Jay. Stay safe in Louisvile.
....just south of Louisville, runs COTs every Friday night and vintage Scaley TransAm and vintage Nascar on Saturday afternoons. Good turnout of 12-16 racers and a great group of folks, lots of fun, easy rules. Come on up. Also home of the Derby City Shootout over the July 4 weekend, a great slot car event, plenty of track time and events and FREE food!!!!
