I spoke with George this afternoon, it was about 8:30 in Germany and the guys were at dinner. They had an uneventful flight over, spent today touring the Mercedes Benz museum. The NINCO "people" are staying at the same hotel, the track is not even set-up
yet. They will run some laps on Saturday and get a visual on it tomorrow. Said the weather was cold and it was snowing. Cell phone charges were about $1.30 per minute, so we only spoke for a couple minutes.
No luck in locating a "bride" for El Secundo yet, but its still early!! The girls all get better looking later in the evening, don'tcha know!!! A couple litres of good Bavarian beer helps too!!
I got that same link in an e-mail from the NINCO Club e-mail addy and it also stated to "pay attention to your e-mail, we´ll keep you informed about everything happening in one of the year´s most waited slot events." Does that mean because I'm a NINCO Club member that I'll be getting e-mail updates throughout the weekend as qualifying and the heats are raced? If so, that is VERY cool!
I don't know how much information you'll be receiving via NINCO Club email.... Because the web link was transmitted to you as a Club member, I believe the web link will be primarily used for updates, and probably the final results will be sent via the Club newsletter.
.....maybe y'all have already discovered this, but, the Stuttgart track diagram is on the World Cup link Bob posted, under the Location [?] tab.....why? I don't have a clue, but there it is, and it looks to have some tricky bits to it.
Lindsey,
This is not the Olympics....countries don't lobby for the event in advance.
NINCO hasn't even thought about that yet. The race hasn't even been run this year!
It'll be many months before the 2008 location is announced.
Think Red!
