Default New Carrera Track Layout

Looking for some help on a Carrera 1/32 track layout. Recntly got a track for Christmas, was going to go just with a oval but after being on this sight for endless hours and seeing all the great set-ups I had to do something else. I did download the track planner but cannot figure it out for the life of me. Here is what I have space for 16x5. Would like a nice layout for a road course. have started to build some pit boxes and such with anticipation of getting started on my big set-up. The set I got for x-mas was the Petty set, so maybe you kinda know what I have to start with, in the process of getting more track. Just need some layout help and what pieces I will need. Everyone has been a great help so far! thanks again.

I find one of the easiest ways to use the track planner is to copy one of the existing tracks and modify that. Just trawling carrera posts on the site can lead to some great ideas.

This is my current layout

I had to make some half straight section for this layout as shown here.

Here's my track layout... 15x4 layout... but if you add the proper shoulder pieces you'll need an additional foot in either direction ;-)

Works quite well and it's lots of fun to drive... here's video of it fully complete...

I would also recommend downloading Ultimate Racer 3.0 (UR3.0) and using this software to design your track... the Carrera track designer is absolute SHEIT! UR3.0 isn't perfect as you can see from the picture the pieces don't line up but in real life they do... but it's a much better piece of software and the fine tuning you have to do once you get a design is very minimal.

Greg,
It was your layout shown on SlotForum that inspired me to do a rethink of mine. I was/am impressed with loads of the details you have done.

Default Software

The layout software's not too bad once you get used to it.
Just keep pluggin' at it and goof it up and start over.
After a while you'll be complaining about the limitations - Then you know you have it mastered.

Like my buddy say's what do you expect, it's freeware!
