Keep in mind: the performance of a 0.0 offset motor mount + 15.8 mm wheels and of a 0.5 offset + 16.5mm rear wheels is roughly equivalent. We see this in our HRS championship.
However, a 0.5 offset mount with 15.8mm wheels has a performance advantage on the same motor mount with larger wheels

And, if you use 16.5mm wheels with a full 1.0mm offset pod, you end up with a slammed slot car with extraordinary performance (ok I may have made that last part up).
