I have heard the expression " learning curve " - I think he has made it past the curve and is heading full speed on the straight away !!!
I have sent an e-mail out regarding our first Vintage Slotcar race day that is being planned and have already received replies back showing interest. One suggestion is that we include 1/32 scale vintage cars also, I'm good with it and I know Brant has suggested 1/32 cars in the past also. It will provide an opportunity for some of the local 1/32 guys to check out our club.
Feel free to forward ideas to myself or Brant, we are just in the planning stage now and it seems that there could be a large turnout.
We have two points events left and as usual there's a battle for the championship going on, lots of positions still wide open with 40 points up for grabs.
The Sports Prototype & Production Sports classes have been completed :
Prototype :
Jim Toye / Victor Czerwony (* tie, 25 points )
Terry Dalton , 21 points
Production :
Jim Toye, 26 points
Terry Dalton, 24 points
Victor Czerwony, 16
Thanks also to everyone for the feedback on our Vintage Race Day, lots of interest and some good ideas, we will need to sit down on the 25th and decide on the day and the classes.
Jim's little blue Dodge sat on the sidelines all season with unknown mechanical problems, a broken motor spring was discovered on raceday and repaired, sending the car to the top of the podium
Modified :
1st Terry Dalton, 2nd Victor Czerwony, 3rd Jim Toye
Terry's hotrod sweeps the Modified class this season for a perfect 30 points !

The membership talked about planning the special event for Vintage slotcars at our last race night. It was decided by Brant that he would like to target the first Saturday in September after the Labour Day long weekend. Trying to put something together during the summer months has always been difficult with people on vacations and going to cottages etc. We would like to have an open 1/32 class to give the GTA 1/32 racers a chance to check out the club as well as 1/24 scale races. Due to the large variety of vintage cars we haven't decided on the exact classes yet, we have several ideas including qualifying and dividing the cars into brackets. Keep the ideas coming our way, there's a big interest in this so far.
This Friday, June 22nd is the final race of the 2011-2012 season, then we take a break until September. Brant will also be presenting the Awards for all classes and the overall Champion.
Nascar & E.J.'s Midgets will be the classes, please confirm attendance with Brant.
