I wonder if the PIONEER minilite wheels will fit, perhaps too big, anyone know please.
I assume those would be from their MG B, which should be scale 15" rims (about 13mm diameter at rim). The Anglia would have run on 13" rims (~11.5mm scale), so the Pioneers would be a bit big; better to go with BWA or Penelope Pitlane scale 13" and minilite insets, although for "period correct" look a stock steel insert would be more appropriate - these cars ran in a bottom feeder class where to most of the guys (and gals) racing every penny counted and the available tires were skinny and slippery, so you didn't need a strong (and expensive) wheel. Minilites are, of course, de rigeur for modern "vintage" racing with fat, sticky rubber, very deep pockets, and where "the look" is all important :-P .
I do not like to say it, I got through fine and had a great chat with George Turner. A Gp 44 XJS on the way to vancouver! along with and Imp and a TWR XJS.
I have the lightened widened version of the A35 as well - runs really nice with a toothbrush motor in it. Same set up as the Anglia - Pendles wheels, BWA inserts and slot-it gearing
The only thing not attached is a tiny white metal detail which is supposed to sit on top of the radiator - it is a little delicate and would the first to go in a crash.
It looks like the motor body only fits in one end of the chassis, how is it held on the endbell end?
This is normally where it has to be screwed to a motor mount, and with a 22k NSR it must take some power ??
