Default Group C Regulations

In case anyone has forgotten:

FIA Group C / IMSA GTP

Based on cars that ran at LeMans and other World Endurance Championship and IMSA races between 1982 and 1993

Baseline Regulations - Applies to all Groups and Sanctioned Events
Version 1.0 – January 2015

1. No Magnets are allowed

2. Weight may be added inside the chassis

3. Chassis /body may be sanded to allow for body float

4. Only one guide per car

5. Only hard bodies are allowed – plastic, fiberglass, resin or 3D. No Vac-formed bodies

6. Where prototype car has them- front and rear window glass are required

7. Prototypical wheels are required (molded plastic, inserts on machined aluminum wheels)
These wheels should be of scale size, width, height and design type. Inserts must be on cars at start of each race.

8. Rubber or urethane tires only, unless the rules call for a spec tire. (no silicones) All tires must be commercially available to all competitors. Tires may be trued and glued except in Classes requiring ‘hand out’ tires.

9. For closed-wheel Classes, wheels and tires may not be visible when viewed from above.

10. Hard plastic or resin interior required. No vacuform interiors or flat trays. (except where motor installation in stock position does not allow for depth (i.e. Monogram Ferrari 250P) Interiors must cover all of the car's inner workings - gears, motor, etc. at a minimum, will include 3 dimensional driver figure with head, shoulders, arms and steering wheel.

Group C / IMSA GTP Specific Rules:

- Group C is a ‘Stock’ Group

‘Stock’ refers to ready-to-run cars produced by Slot.it

Stock body and chassis that came with the body must be used.

Changes to gears, axles and wheels are allowed – but prototype inserts and sizes must be maintained.

Motor configuration must be in-line.

Guide may be changed but must retain stock position.

“Stock’ bodies from other manufacturers may be used with Slot.it chassis (i.e. SRC Lola T-600). Chassis modifications to allowing fitting of other ‘stock’ or ‘customized’ bodies are allowed within framework of the rules. (i.e. 1990+ Porsche 962’s)

New ‘Evo’ chassis may be used in place of original –but motor configuration must be in-line

Motors are limited to Slot.it Orange end-bell, white end-bell or Turqouise end-bell and in no case may exceed 21,500 rpm. Suspect motors may be tested at Tech.

If wheels are changed, relevant prototype inserts must be used. No ‘low-rider’ wheel –tire combinations.

Cars must retain all ‘parts’ including wings and other appendages, as per prototype, at the start of each heat. If a car loses any items during a heat, it can continue without penalty, but must be repaired prior to the start of the next heat.

Any questions about these regulations should be directed to the SCI NCSRA section for clarification.
