Thanks redsn8k. I thought it was taking too long! This is why I insisted the track be built in the house. That way everyone can hang out while I work on it. The wife and kids are all into it too because I involve them. Asking their opinions about stuff and getting their input. It's fun.
The tree was pretty easy to make. The main structure is a piece of heavy gauge copper wire with bailing wire twisted around it to make the branches. Then the structure was covered with air dry clay and stuck in a piece of wood to dry. After it sets up paint it however you want. Then I cut toothpicks and stuck them in the ends of the branches and glued green moss into them. For placement just still a hole and stock the wire in with some glue.
The cool thing about doing trees this way is they look more natural and they don't look like the generic trees everyone else has.
