Default Rear tire melt down

I was looking over my slot-it collection which is in a plexiglass case, i was shocked to find my posche rear tires where stuck to the case, and were gooy,
they have beed sitting there maybe a year or more.
Has anyone had this problem?
By the way they are stock tires and rims.

There are several threads here and on other forums discussing this, even a current one here on SCI. Unfortunately this occurs across various manufacturers, but I'll say this is the first I have heard of it happening to a Slot.it tire.

Here is one discussing Carrera...

I have had the same experience from several manufacturers and I tend to believe it has something to do with the degassing of the plastic container. I keep my cars in my A/C home in plastic containers holder 6-10 cars each. I try to run each car periodically to avoid said problem, but it doesn't always work out like that. I know from my old stamp and comic book collections that paper items were never kept in plastic packaging as they would discolor and make the paper brittle. I had to keep the comic books in Mylar envelopes and stamps is a special paper baggy (don't remember the type)
