Thanks to all the participants in the club, as Brant always tells us, the club is not geared for "one" person, but for "every" person, see you all soon !
Thank you to everyone that came out to kick things off for the 2011 / 2012 season, lots of new faces & some we have not seen in years. It was a great suprize to see Robert, he came all the way from Ottawa :
We confirmed that the first official points race will be Friday October 28th, Prototype Sports & Production Sports , hope to see everyone then
Dinner & a Movie ( and two classes of racing ) $ 10.00
Good afternoon,
I've been talking to Brant and will hopefully have a television & DVD player installed by the next event, feel free to bring any racing related movies that you have and we can play them during practice.
As discussed at the last meeting Brant would like to leave the entry fee at $10.00, I don't think you can match that deal anywhere ( 2 classes of racing, dinner, pop & water ! ) He has asked that we do have a $ 20.00 annual membership fee to help cover trophy's, special dinner nights and any track repairs that are required. I still can't get over the turnout on Friday, looks like everyone wants to get back at it after a few months off, and several new people have shown an interest. For the new people there's a rules thread here that you can take a look at and if you have any questions please message me.
with Halloween just around the corner this proved to be a scary night of racing with lots of action & drama !
Sports ProtoType :
Terry Dalton Victor Czerwony Brant Snow
Terry takes the win after several front runners take a trip to the trailer with catastrophic failure. Jim Toye's McLaren appeared to be on it's way to ending the total Porsche domination of this class and was sidelined with mechanical issues after a hard crash in traffic. New member and master builder Kevin Field looked like he was on his way to the top of the podium with his ride and mechanical failure sent him off also. Brant puts in a solid performance filling in the podium in third.
Production Sports :
Terry Dalton Jim Toye Gary Burella
Terry does it ! his Ferrari puts an end to the previously unbeaten car driven by Jim. Rounding out the podium in third is Gary Burella ! This was his first time racing at the club with us and he had strong finishes in both classes, look out for this hard charging racer ! Not far behind Gary was Scott Wylie, usually a guest, he raced in the event this time and said he will be trying to be part of future events also, great to hear from this long time member of the local racing community.
We had a moment of silence for Dan Wheldon and placed an open wheel car on the track to show our respects for him, very sad when someone gets killed doing something we all have such a passion for :
I will be posting the full schedule later this weekend, see you next time for Short Track & Modified
Thanks to everyone for coming out, and thanks to club president Chuck Ingram for tech and marshalling

as we were enjoying the post-race dinner I noticed some photos on a shelf in the dining room ( apparently they have been there for years, they had never caught my eye before ) Brant had taken some beautiful shots at Mosport many years ago :
Mark Friday November 25 on the calendar, it's the next event on the 2011 schedule. We have several new members, if you have any questions regarding the classes you can check under the club rules & regulations or contact myself or Brant. Keep in mind that if you borrow cars from members to compete on a race night that points will be included towards the championship for two events for each class ( there's three for each class ) The idea of the club is to build cars to race, you are welcome to borrow cars at any time ( and bring friends ! ) but the championship cannot be won with borrowed cars only.
Another nice evening at the Snow household, homemade Chili with Caesar Salad & Garlic bread ( oh, and we did some racing ! )
Short-Track :
Victor Czerwony Jim Toye Terry Dalton
Victory was Victor's with the Home Depot Camaro closely followed by Jim's Quaker State Grandprix, almost a mirror image of the Tony Stewart / Carl Edwards finish at Homestead, a very exciting side-by-side final 40 laps. Terry, always in the hunt fills the podium in third.
Modified :
Terry Dalton Jim Toye Victor Czerwony
Terry's Euro-flavoured Ingram Modified is unstoppable, it will be a suprize if anyone can beat him in this class. Jim takes second in another Ingram custom car and Victor's sleek looking taxi pulls off third.
Well, it looks like the new members have inspired some building by everyone, I have never seen so many new beautiful creations in one night, keep up the good work !
Dec 9th will be an open house non-points night, hope to see you then

I'm going to bring some of my '60s vintage cars to the open house, please feel free to bring some along if you have them, I would like to take some pictures ( and if we have enough, we can run a race with them ! )
