Tech inspection is even stricter than last year, but went smoothly throughout the afternoon. We're proud to represent the United States and MRC, and we'll do our best tomorrow during the race. The car is good with an average motor within the field and is one of the best in the bunch. Jason Stanley is the man behind the car during tech inspection and both Kurt and I are very thankful.
Thanks for tuning in, I'll be back tomorrow to post results and maybe later tonight to post some pictures! The track is AMAZING!
Mark Called me on the phone to give me the results!! I was at Lunch and got so excited I slopped ketchup all over me.
I knew it.... I knew MRC had a world beating team with this years Team USA!!!
Way to go guys!
He said they're going to the Pub...... I gave Mark a few hints about pub etiquette.....
way to go Team USA!!
Race The Red Triangle!

Way to go team USA!
Talked to Jason on the phone and he said the top four teams are very fast. He didn't think Belgium put their fastest driver on qualifying.
This is the best team we have sent to date. I've raced a lot with Mark and thought he was as fast as anybody in the world running a slot car. This confirms it. I also race with Jason and Kurt. And they're not chopped liver either.
My advice is, KEEP IT IN THE SLOT BOYS AND MAKE LAPS!
Most of all HAVE FUN!
I'm so proud of you guys! Sleep well, and get it done tomorrow.
It was pretty cool to stand exactly where some of the best drivers in the world stood!
And of course, some pictures of Silverstone...we may have some time tomorrow to walk around and stuff before the race. I want to take pictures of cars exiting turn 1!
This is where the race is being held....it's actually on the suite right above the pits! We look down at the cars when they enter/exit the pits!
Guys, here's a link to my photobucket...more pictures that I did not post here.
F1 podium, yea right.
Wait till you get back to Atlanta, we'll humble ya.
You won't be able to fit your head in Kurt's Speed Racer helmet that's already stretched to the limit because of his fat head.
Hey, it's 3:00 in the morning there. GET TO BED! You got to race tomorrow!

That was one of the strict rules in the tech inspection, but I think they decided to wave it for the heavier cars, for obvious reasons. There are a lot of very nice paintjobs and I think it was realized that almost all of these painted bodies were weighing in the 21-22gram range so the tolerance was extended. Belgium's car weighed around the 22gram mark along with one of the UK Teams and I'm sure many others.
We were informed by the scrutineers that they were mainly concerned with a lightened body rather than worrying about going 0.1 of a gram over the 21.3gram limit.
Also, the final car's setup is this:
- 11/24 gear
- ball bearing rears
- titanium axle rears 2.48mm
- 17" wide EVO rear wheels 2.48mm
- 15" narrow EVO front wheels 3/32
- titanium axle front 3/32
- pro-race guide long shaft with spring
- 18x10 front tires
- slot.it competition copper braids
