Default car detection sensors

Let me just say that I've been running UR3.0 for a few months now and I'm totally blown away with how well it all works. I've got a carlson sensor track with a call button installed, and that seems to be working (counting laps and timing) perfectly. The one question I have is: Can I use the sensortrak to detect whether a car is on the track or not? Or do I need a separate piece of hardware to make this happen? If I do need to get a different sensor to add to the track it's fine, but I just don't know what to get or where. Sorry, I'm a n00b. Something tells me that I might be able to work it out with what I've got, but I'm really not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you'll need 2 things:
- a dedicated piece of hardware
- a new feature in ur3

I am currently designing this feature as it's highly requested in the whish list. I have not taken a decision yet if I implement it as a driver crash track call button with penalties and so on, or if I implement it a circuit generated event.

In any case the crashes are currently managed as lifes. One is lost each time a crash occurs til crash & burn. I am thinking about a feture where the pit stop would add lifes in case of crasdh.

What're your thoughts?

Ooops, I just saw this feature is partially available: UR3 manages external crash & burn event. So any device detecting a car has desloted can generate an event... and decreases the car life counter!
