Default Ferrari Lancia D50?

Afternoon
I came across this picture in the Sep 1956 Speed Age magazine,
this car appears to have rear fenders. Anyone see this in there travels?.
Thanks CG

Cool

I don't see any fenders, just large rear tires and panier tanks between the front and rear tires.

It's just a standard D50.

There was one model with a streamlined faired in nose, but, the tops of the tires were still visible. That is not this cdar.

HI CG the photo that you have is of the early Lancia version of the D50 with the sponson fuel tanks. It is an optical illusion that makes you think it has rear fenders. It is just the rear tires sticking up over the fuel tanks.

Cartrix make a number of liveries for this car. A web search should find one.

Agree the car in post #1 car hasn't got fenders over the rear tyres. It's either an image from early 1956 before Ferrari had modified the Lancias much or a1955 Lancia. It might even be Castellotti's number 30 Lancia seen on the second row of the start at the 1955 Monaco GP in this photo-

There was a D50 with fenders over the rear tyres

It was tested at the 1956 French GP but not raced. This had a wide nose quite different from the photo in post #1.

George Turner does the D50 with the seperate tanks. The Cartrix one has the tanks moulded to the body.

Here is my take on the GTM kit

cheers
David

Default D50

Afternoon
This was what made me think of a rear fender, picture taken farther
away. These cars were all mentioned in the article about early F1
and Grand Prix cars and thanks everyone for your feedback. CG
